Where is it?

The Location

These mountains are home to the famous sectors of Siurana and Margalef which have been popularised by some of the best climbers in the world coming here to test themselves but they also hold some hidden gems for more mortal climbers with sectors like Arboli. There is a lifetimes worth of climbing here for every level of climber and some of the most inspirational lines we have ever seen.

Where are we staying?

The Accomodation

We are staying in the traditional Catalan mountain village of Arboli. This gorgeous place is surrounded by nature and is home to a climber's refuge run by the locals. It is here that we will be filling our stomachs each evening and resting our heads each night.

Local Cuisine

Each night we will be treated to a dinner cooked by a local chef using locally sourced ingredients to make traditional Catalan cuisine. Breakfasts will consist of a buffet and we will take a packed lunch with us for the days excursions. We can cater to any dietary requirement but you must give us plenty of notice if you have specific needs.

We can pick up up from the airport and, provide transport and any or all equipment needed. We are fully insured and have a vast amount of experience looking after guests in mountain environments. We will also provide photography and video of the adventure so you can focus on enjoying yourself and still have the memories immortalised on camera.

Achieving Personal Goals

On the first day will will help you set personal goals and show you how to reach them using Goal Cards based on the Law of Attraction theory.

Nutrition Optimisation

In line with your overall goals, we will set individual nutrition goals. Everyone will determine her/his ideal TDEE and macro split. And we’ll cover easy cooking habits.

The Power of the Brain

We will show how to manipulate the brain to overcome fear and better leverage the mind-body connection.

Basic & Advanced Climbing Technique

Whether you are a beginner or an advanced climber we make sure you will level up your skills in this camp. Some of the beginner topics include basic foot and body positions, safety, rope dynamics, anchors, or lead belaying. Advanced topics include lead climbing, overhanging technique, multipitch, self rescue, trad climbing and projecting.

Effective Strength Training and Recovery

Strength, endurance and recovery are key aspects for good and sustainable climbing. We will cover principles like generality and specificity training, progressive overload and consistency, how to calculate your 1RM (1 rep max) and then determine the right volume and intensity. For recovery we will discuss techniques such as cold exposure, breathing, meditation (based on Wim Hof) and most importantly how to improve sleep quality.

Sam Wood

From a very early age Sam has been fascinated with a life on the mountains ever since his father told him there was a fish and chip shop on the top of one. He always has a guide in his backpack ready to go. Hailing from the north of England in the beautiful climbing town of Keswick he moved to Barcelona nearly a decade ago and found a new love for climbing in Catalonia’s incredible mountains and venues.

From a very early age Sam has been fascinated with a life on the mountains ever since his father told him there was a fish and chip shop on the top of one. He always has a guide in his backpack ready to go. Hailing from the north of England in the beautiful climbing town of Keswick he moved to Barcelona nearly a decade ago and found a new love for climbing in Catalonia’s incredible mountains and venues.
After a successful career in sales and management he has now turned his skills to the creation of Crag Rats BCN with a key philosophy of bring mountain adventures to all who felt it was beyond their grasp while at the same time promoting education of key skills, environmental issues and the local culture.

Sergi lives and breathes the mountains! A skilled and strong climber he is well respected in the local climbing community and it seems everywhere we go we find someone who knows him. This is testament to his excellent character, always smiling and optimistic and a born leader who gives confidence to all the guests he looks after.

A fully qualified mountain guide he is currently studying to become a rock climbing guide also and has years of experience working at Climbat Foixarda looking after groups and setting climbing routes. On top of all this he is a regular commentator and host at major climbing competitions rubbing shoulders with the greatest climbers of our generation.
